Birthdays All Around

Today is a big day: two important people in my life are celebrating birthdays.  My maternal grandma, who has been an active part of my entire life, is turning one year older.  Grandma loves traveling, shopping, and the nightlife aka gambling at the casino until 3am while enjoying a complimentary beverage along the way.  Not bad for a 71 year young lady!

My sister Lauren is turning the big 3-0 today.  Growing up I think we both tried to convince ourselves that we were nothing like the other.  But Mother Nature says otherwise, as evidenced through the number of people who say "are you sisters (or twins)?"  I don't see it but you can judge for yourself.  Happy Birthday sis!

 

4 cities in 5 hours

Four cities in five hours...I feel like a rock star!  While I would like to think my life is similar to that of a celebrity, really I'm just a regular southern girl having fun living life.  This weekend, I visited my sister in Chicago to celebrate her 30th birthday.  We went shopping on Saturday morning to find the perfect "going out" outfits...made more difficult by the fact that it was 4 degrees!  And Saturday night in the city was a great way to celebrate my sister's birthday.  Since my flight didn't leave until 4:00pm on Sunday I had a lot of time to spend with my nephew Elliott, cheer on the Bears, and check out the bargains at Ikea.  Can't wait for my next trip to Chicago!
